Congratulations to our students Chan Ka Chun, Chan Yau Shing , Li Ka Wai, Li Yui Shing John, and Ng Cheuk Man. Their team, Tri-Mirage, proudly captured the Champion at the Build a Smart City Competition 2026, organised by the Faculty of Construction and Environment at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Participating under the project theme “Designing a Smart Architecture with Innovative Building Technology and Materials”, the team developed a visionary stacked shopping-mall design. Utilising advanced 3D modelling, their entry seamlessly linked three buildings via bridges and escalators. The architectural design prioritised both sustainability and community well-being by incorporating outdoor planted terraces, an energy-efficient misting system for cooling, and engaging shared spaces such as a pet park.

The students demonstrated immense dedication throughout the summer, beginning their journey at an opening ceremony. They subsequently attended preparatory workshops on 26 June and 3 July 2026. Tailored to their specific project theme, these sessions offered a rich mix of academic theory and practical application, featuring hands-on activities focused on innovative building materials, smart architecture designs, and prototyping solutions. To further enrich their understanding, the team also went on a guided tour at The Henderson. After weeks of innovating and collaborating, the team delivered their triumphant final presentation.
