Congratulations to our S4 student, Ng Yuk Hay, on achieving early admission to the prestigious Zhizhen School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in the 2025–2026 academic year. Admitted directly as an S4 student without sitting for the HKDSE examination, Yuk Hay has demonstrated extraordinary academic potential and passion for advanced mathematical research.  

Initiated and led by world-renowned mathematician Professor Yau Shing-tung as Founding Director, the Zhizhen School was established to cultivate elite leaders in mathematical sciences. In close collaboration with top institutions such as Tsinghua University’s Qiuzhen College and Fudan University, the School offers a rigorous 8-Year Articulated Bachelor of Science-Ph.D. Programme comprising three years of foundational mathematics training, two years of scientific research, and three years of doctoral studies.

The selection process for the School is exceptionally competitive. Candidates must pass a rigorous entrance examination covering university-level physics alongside advanced mathematics topics, followed by an intensive panel interview. Yuk Hay’s successful admission reflects his profound mathematical talent, analytical rigour, and remarkable adaptability to higher-level academic challenges.
