WYC "A Seat for Everyone" Community Music Concert
7 March, 2026

On 7 March 2026, Wa Ying College successfully held the "A Seat for Everyone" Community Music Concert at the Hong Kong Chinese Christian Church. Invited by the church and Angolo Musica (音樂旮旯), the event aimed to connect with the local community through the universal language of music, offering students a precious opportunity to share joy and showcase their talents in a warm, uplifting atmosphere.

The concert commenced with a captivating performance by the WYC Recorder Band, led by conductor Mr. Andy So. They opened the programme with Andantino in G Major, Op. 22 – IV. Andantino and V. Allegretto, followed by a beautiful rendition of Haydn’s Symphony No. 94 in G Major – II. Andante. Following this, the WYC Mixed Voice Choir, conducted by Mr. Moses Chan, took the stage to perform The Lord Bless You and Keep You and Simple Gifts. Accompanied gracefully by Ms. Ng Tsz Wing and our student clarinetist, Liu Tsz Ho, their voices brought a serene and tender atmosphere to the hall. Adding a vibrant touch to the repertoire, the WYC Recorder Ensemble subsequently delighted the audience with their spirited performance of Hornpipe.

The second half of the concert took on a more reflective tone, featuring deeply moving pieces. The Recorder Band returned to perform If I Could alongside Leap of Faith, an original piece composed by Mr. Andy So to commemorate Wa Ying College’s 50th anniversary. The Mixed Voice Choir then presented Alex Tam’s No Woundless World.

The event culminated in a touching finale featuring the piece Thankful. Under the baton of Mr. Moses Chan and accompanied by an alumni band, the performance was a heartfelt expression of gratitude to God, reminding everyone to cherish life’s blessings and count His grace.
