The S6 Farewell Assembly was held on 21 February 2025, marking a significant and heartfelt moment as our graduating students prepard to close an important chapter in their educational journey. On the eve of their final day, the assembly provided an opportunity for reflection on the memories and experiences shared over the past six years.
The event began with S6 students reminiscing about their collective past, sharing cherished memories, and expressing gratitude to the school and teachers for their guidance and support. Upholding our school’s tradition, S6 student representatives passed the symbolic candle flame to their S5 counterparts, signifying the handover of responsibility and the continuation of Wa Ying's enduring spirit.
Mr. To Yee, a missionary from the Methodist Church, and Ms. Wan Pui Shan Becky, representative from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), delivered words of encouragement to inspire the S6 students as they prepared to embark on a new chapter in life. Our Principal, Dr. Wun Chi Wa, gave the final Religious Education lesson of their school life on stage. Drawing on the school motto and the Chinese character of the graduating class’s seh 霽, Dr. Wun shared blessings and insightful advice, leaving the students with meaningful lessons to carry forward.
As a token of encouragement, gifts from the Methodist Church, the PTA, and the Principal were presented to the students, each filled with love and warm wishes for their future.
The assembly concluded with a touching moment as teachers sang the hymn “晴天雨天” to send their sincerest blessings to the graduating class. The song reminded students that, through life’s sunshine and rain, they will always have the Lord by their side to guide them on their journey. To symbolize the rainbow after the rain and reflect the meaning of their seh, students were given rainbow wristband lights as a token of hope and new beginnings.
