Auxiliary Medical Professional Week was a new initiative which took place from 6 March to 8 March 2024. Its primary objective was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of various professions in the medical field, thereby broadening their horizons. It also aimed to arouse students’ awareness of both their physical and mental health while emphasizing the significance of well-being and cultivating a positive mindset, all under the framework of PROSPER.
To accomplish these goals, esteemed alumni who currently hold positions as pharmacists, Chinese herbalists, nutritionists, physiotherapist, as well as our school speech therapist, were cordially invited to serve as guest speakers in the Auxiliary Medical Professional Week. These distinguished medical professionals delivered captivating presentations and engaged in interactive sessions, enlightening our students about their respective job responsibilities and shedding light on the potential career prospects in the medical field.
Furthermore, the School of Chinese Medicine from The Baptist University of Hong Kong provided an enriching opportunity for students to partake in herbal experiences. This immersive activity allowed students to gain firsthand knowledge of Chinese medicine.
The Auxiliary Medical Professional Week provided an invaluable platform for students to expand their knowledge, explore potential career paths and develop a deeper appreciation for the importance of health and well-being. Through the involvement of accomplished alumni and the hands-on experiences offered, the event successfully empowered students to adopt a holistic approach to explore different professions in the medical field.
