The 53rd Anniversary cum Speech Day was successfully held in the School Hall. We were delighted to welcome IMC members, graduates, teachers and parents to celebrate our school's anniversary and student achievements.

Ms. Yeung Kin Ha, Yvonne (Him Seh), the CEO of the Hong Kong YWCA, honored us as the distinguished guest. In her address, she shared her journey from being a banker to leading an NGO. Ms. Yeung combined her interests in business administration and psychology to help those in need. She encouraged students to find their “POS”: Passion, Opportunity and Strength. She emphasized these elements as essential for a fulfilling career and life. Following her inspiring speech, Ms. Yeung presented certificates to the prize winners.

After the prize presentation, our Principal, Dr. Wun Chi Wa, delivered a speech to provide updates on recent school developments and express gratitude to Wayingers of different generations for shaping Wa Ying today.

A highlight of the day was the Coronation Ceremony. Ms. Chu Sau Kuen (Bun Seh), from the first graduating class of Wa Ying, represented the alumni. She fondly reminisced about how teachers influenced her life and shared how a “golden chain” of friendship has kept them connected for 53 years. Long service awards were presented to our dedicated staff. The ceremony also recognized alumni who graduated 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 years ago for their contributions to the alma mater and society.  This was followed by the S4 Blessing Ceremony, marking a new phase in students’ learning journey. Each class representative was presented with the school badge as a symbol of our heartfelt blessings.

The event was elevated by performances from our School Choir, Wind Band and String Orchestra, adding a melodious touch to the celebration. The day was filled with pride and joy from students, staff, parents and alumni. The celebration concluded with a refreshing reception for our guests, marking a memorable and joyous occasion.
