WYC team won second runner-up in the CUHK Competition on System Modeling & Optimization 2022

Congratulations to Cui Haofei and Ho Sin Wai for receiving the second runner-up award out of 52 participating teams in the Competition on System Modeling & Optimization (COSMO) 2022. The event took the form of case study competition on building mathematical models and formulating solutions for a vaccination programme under a tight time constraint. The team was tested in terms of their presentation and oral defense skills in the finals, and they showed themselves to be competitive, informed and insightful.

Co-organized by the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Association for Computer Education, COSMO aimed to encourage students to study mathematics and try to improve their ability in building system model, the use of mathematical method and computer technology to solve problems.
